Our Founder
Lilly Lacock
Lilly always likes to tell the tale of her growing up around fabric. As a baby, young girl, teenager and later fashion design student sewing machines, fabric and the creative industry has been a huge part of her life. In her mother’s interior design studio and factory she spent her early childhood underneath the cutting tables playing with fabric surround by seamstresses. Today one of these seamstresses she grew up with, Juneth, is an integral part of the Mors team.
Lilly started Mors with only 100 woven labels a few off cut leather pieces from the local upholstery and her mother’s old linen table cloths as a 20 year old student. Mors sold its first apron in lockdown and during 2020 many more.
Lilly always jokes and says she does not have much to show for the years she ran this business as a student but what she has however is a loyal customer base and truly humble beginnings. Today Mors is still run by Lilly.
She has in the meantime completed her diploma in fashion design from the renowned Elizabeth Galloway Academy of fashion design in Stellenbosch. Her four years spent at Elizabeth Galloway thought her the value of perseverance, hard work and what it takes to survive in the creative industry.
2026 is the first year since Lilly started working in the fashion industry that she took the leap of faith to run her business full time.
A note from Lilly “I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I have had in my fashion career to have learnt from the best in the industry and I am excited to combine all the skills and apply it to build a business that will stand the test of time. Here is to dreaming creating and growing. Thank you for being here.”
